Erik Lawrence: SOUND SANCTUARY
Opening with a special appearance from local singer/song writer Sarah Browne
Erik returns to Campwoods Grounds with friends. Music and sound are known to get to the heart of a person when nothing else can. Join us as we hold space for one another through musically guided meditation, led by Erik Lawrence. Sound Sanctuary was created to pay attention to our emotional needs during these times. Regardless of what we are experiencing, music with the heart of compassion may be just what we need. In this meditation we will enter and explore a deep state of Theta and emerge refreshed, inspired and bolstered. Saxophonist/Flutist/Sound and Vibrational Healer/Poet/Journalist/Educator Erik Lawrence has traveled five continents performing. From being a founding member of Levon Helm's band to the Wilco and My Morning Jacket, Bob Dylan to Sonny Sharrock, poet Laureate Robert Pinsky to Tibetan flute master Nawhang Khechog and lots in between. He has been called a "next generation sound healer" though his roots are based in his studies with master healers, years of Sound Bath and Kirtan, studying both ancient and modern modalities. His practice follows the progression of Deep Listening and Empathy, to Compassionate Response with the use of flutes and saxophones. Medicine Songs, Humming and Breathing are also employed in private sessions and group events.
